The Jazz Band has won the award for Best Jazz Band Excellence Award and the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival Scholarship for the most outstanding Jazz Band! Rehearsals resume this week.

Jazz band will rehearse on Thursdays from 12 - 12:45 p.m. REMINDER: Jason Caslor Band workshops tomorrow morning - 9:00 a.m. an 10:30 a.m.!

Concert Band: Monday 7:30 am - 8:20 am Jazz Band: Tuesday 7:30 am - 8:20 am Beginner Band: Friay 7:30 am - 8:20 am Please note that if your rehearsal falls on a statutory holiday or Professional Development day, it is cancelled. Sign up outside of the Music room (#109) for your lunchtime audition for Jazz Band. Prepare one piece, any style, and please bring your own instrument.
Do you love music with soul? Enjoy improvising and jamming with other musicians? George Street Middle School's Jazz Band offers all that and more! If you have at least 1 year's experience on your instrument and are interested in learning to play jazz, consider auditioning on September 9 or 10 for the GSMS Jazz Band!
Students are chosen for this small group by the director based on technical ability and musicianship. Rehearsals are 1.5 hours weekly with sectionals as needed. Performances include Christmas Recital, Spring Recital, Fredericton Music Festival and Music on the Strip. The fee for Jazz Band upon admittance is $60,00 made payable to George Street Middle School. Payment is due by October 31, 2013. |
